obile esports in 2025 witnessed a few trends, from the domination of a couple of titles in the viewership metrics to the rejuvenation of certain popular games. Nevertheless, the segment continued to grow, led by the prominence of world championships and long-running regional leagues.
This year, in terms of pure scale and consistency, two names — Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and Arena of Valor — stood head and shoulders above their peers. However, several other titles, especially Clash Royale, surprised the community with their ability to draw in massive audience numbers at their peaks.
Here’s a breakdown of the top mobile esports tournaments by watch time and peak viewership, providing readers with an idea of the livestreaming trends expected to emerge in the segment in 2025. Readers must note that statistics from Chinese livestreaming platforms have not been included as their publicly available viewership data differs from the concurrent viewership figures typically used by us on worldwide livestreaming services like Twitch and YouTube.
Most-watched mobile esports events of 2025

MLBB took up the first four spots here, with its largest regional circuit, the Mobile Legends Professional League in Indonesia, claiming the top two. Seasons 16 and 15 continued this highly popular series’ run of crossing the 100 million Hours Watched (HW) mark, on that now stretches back to the end of 2023.
The two seasons also joined a list of just 14 esports events overall to break the 100 million HW barrier, with this table dominated by League of Legends competitions. In fact, for a while, the MPL Indonesia Season 15 also figured among the top ten events on this table, with other entries from later in the year pushing it out.
The two MPL regional leagues from the Philippines also made this top ten, with Seasons 16 and 15 continuing to show why the country remains crucial to MLBB’s global appeal. Like its Indonesian counterpart, the first split of the year put up milestone numbers, becoming just the second edition in the series to cross the 30 million HW mark.
With the second split also coming close to the above landmark, these two editions now stand as the MPL Philippines’ most-watched editions of all time. That the two most recent seasons ended as this series’ most successful ones bodes well for a league that has been running for several years.
The last MLBB representative here is the MLBB Mid Season Cup 2025, which racked up just over 50 million HW in around three weeks of action. The second edition of this series to be held as part of the Esports World Cup was much more successful than the first, doing better in terms of all three crucial metrics: watch time, peak viewership, and Average Viewers (AV).
We now move to Arena of Valor, which had four representatives in this top ten table. The top entry was Arena of Glory Spring 2025, which became the series’ most successful split to date. It finished as the most-watched and most popular event in this prominent Vietnamese circuit. The Arena of Glory Winter 2025 followed the good work of the year’s first split by finishing among the most-watched Arena of Glory events.
The MOBA’s two global championships also made the cut, led by the Arena of Valor Premier League 2025, which was the series’ top iterations by average viewership. We also had the Arena of Valor International Championship 2025, which ended in the top two most-watched AIC tournaments.
The PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2025 was the sole entry, apart from MLBB and AoV, on this watch time leaderboard. The most coveted PUBG Mobile event was a big success as well, ending among the battle royale shooter’s seven most-watched competitions of all time.

Most popular mobile esports events of 2025

A lot of the events that topped the watch time standings also finished in the top ten here, led by the MLBB entries. The MOBA’s mid-season tournament just about crossed 3 million Peak Viewers (PV) during the quarterfinal between Indonesian fan-favorite RRQ Hoshi and 2024 champion Selangor Red Giants OG Esports. This put it among the 20 most popular esports competitions ever.
Meanwhile, the MPL Indonesia Season 15 ended among the ten most popular esports tournaments of all time. The 4.13 million PV it reached during the Grand Final between Indonesian powerhouses ONIC Esports and RRQ Hoshi became a new record for the MPL series.
The MPL Indonesia Season 16, meanwhile, ended as just the third event in the Indonesian circuit to pass the 3 million peak concurrent viewers mark. This figure was attained during the finals between ONIC Esports and Alter Ego, with the former once again asserting its dominance in the country’s top regional MLBB league.
Moving to the Filipino league of the Mobile Legends Professional League, both finished with over one million peak live viewers. After not having any event cross this mark during the first 13 seasons, the last three splits have seen the circuit easily surpass this barrier. As long as the likes of Team Liquid PH and ONIC Philippines do well, there is a chance that future editions could push the boundaries more, and the series could finally cross 2 million PV.
The Snapdragon Pro Series Season 6 APAC – Challenge Finals deserves a special mention as well. This regional event brought together some of the world’s top sides as they battled for the first major trophy in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang this year. With so much at stake so early in the year, and with top sides performing well, it became the most popular third-party Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament.
PUBG Mobile had two representatives here, with both its major global tournaments making a mark. First comes the game’s world championship, which crossed the one million concurrent viewers mark for the first time in almost five years, reaching over 1.3 million Peak Viewers during one of the last rounds of the Grand Finals.
The much newer PUBG Mobile World Cup 2025, in its second run as part of the EWC, ended as the title’s most popular event in over four years. A fairytale run from the unknown Burmese side, Yangon Galacticos, helped drum up massive interest in the Grand Final, with one of the final rounds attracting almost 1.4 million PV.
The final entry here is also one of the final major esports events to be held in 2025, as December’s 33rd Southeast Asian Games – Men peaked at just over a million viewers during the finals. It became the first Arena of Valor competition to reach this mark, charting new waters for a title that continues its livestreaming growth amidst tremendous competition in the mobile gaming space.
